Elizabeth is a Certified Yoga Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher at home in the Bay Area. Exploring the intersections of physical, mental, and emotional health, her teachings emphasize the body-mind-spirit connection. Incorporating the traditions of Hatha, Restorative, and Therapeutic Yoga, Elizabeth guides her students to recognize and build upon their inherent wholeness.

Elizabeth has been leading healing groups based on holistic wellness since 2009. She initially focused on mental health, but witnessing the need to incorporate the whole person - body, mind, and spirit - as well as community and social influences, she began to widen her scope. This exploratory process led her to deepen her studies of yoga, which she had been dabbling in since 2006, to balance the often depleting public mental health work.

As her relationship to yoga expanded, Elizabeth began to bring what had been a very personal practice to clients, both groups and individuals. She saw the systems of yoga as perfect tools to address strengths and needs, to support those seeking understanding, integration, and healing. Our bodies and our spirits are resilient, naturally working towards healing, and through yoga it is possible to live with purpose, balance, and self-direction.

Elizabeth began teaching yoga in 2013 and completed her yoga therapy training in 2014 at Purusha Yoga School. Certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists, she has shared yoga therapy with individuals of diverse backgrounds in residential treatment programs, through case management services, in substance abuse programs, in mental health outpatient clinics, with youth alternatives programs, and in medical clinics, including Swords to PlowsharesWomen’s Resource CenterBerkeley Youth Alternatives, REALM Charter School, Mission Mental Health, LifeLong Medical CareBerkeley High Mountain Bike Team, and Bonita House

Elizabeth leads public classes at Addison Yoga Loft, Square One Yoga, and community centers around the Bay Area. (Check out the weekly schedule.) She also offers trainings at Purusha Yoga School, retreats in northern California, and private and group sessions in the East Bay. Sharing the gifts of yoga grows inspiration and provides Elizabeth a life of deep purpose.
